Cognitive Neuro-Lab is a cognitive neuroscience research laboratory of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya linked to Health Science Faculty and recognized by the Agency for Administration of University and Research (AGAUR, 2014 SGR 1483).

Cognitive Neuro-Lab confines its focus of interest to the study of biological substrates underlying cognition, with a specific interest on the neural substrates of mental processes in humans. The laboratory mainly focuses on two closely related areas: the study of human cognitive functions (mostly cognitive control, working memory and executive functions) through transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and the improvement, stimulation and rehabilitation of these cognitive functions in neurodegenerative disease, like Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.

The Cognitive Neuro-Lab, is located in an hospital setting (Biomedical Research Institute in the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona) and has all the technical resources necessary for the proper implementation of TMS projects: transcranial magnetic stimulator Magstim Super Rapid2 and a neuronavigation system (stereotactic image guidance Brainsight™2), which enables monitoring accurately the location of the stimulation coil, allowing the repetition of the same on a particular point brain participant very precisely.
